Coming from Buffalo, NY, and having some Northern/Eastern European in me, I've always loved/felt in tune to colder climes.
Tinariwen have been the first to stir in me an appreciation for the beauty of the desert and the heat of the sun.
If you can't feel the love they have for their land in every drumbeat and thrumming, blasting chord, the only explanation is that you're dead.
Favorite track: Sastanàqqàm.

A friend introduced me to this band through their Nànnuflày music video. The sounds are so classic, but they have something really novel to them. Something that makes me always want more.
Favorite track: Nànnuflày (feat. Kurt Vile, Mark Lanegan).
